52+Deck of Cards= Awesome 52nd Birthday!

Have you ever wanted to throw a very thoughtful birthday, but been on a tight budget?  This theme would work great for any birthday, but it's beyond perfect for celebrating a 52nd birthday (since it's a deck of 52 cards)! Over the next few days we will show you how to make each of the projects for the party. The total for the party decorations and the cake (with personalized candles) was less than $20!

At Dollar Tree, we purchased:
2 pack of tapers for $1
4 pack of small red candles for $1
(2) 2 packs of cards for $2
1 red table cloth $1
Napkins- 1 red pack, 1 black pack $2
Plates- 1 red pack, 1 black pack $2
3 kinds of red and black candy $3
Black streamers and ribbon $3

For the fruit tart birthday cake, we spend $5 on ingredients that we didn't have in the house.
This easy recipe will be posted this week!

 From our houses we used:
Candle holders
Jewelry holder (as shown below)
Broken picture frame
Candy dish
Cake plate
6 pack container decorated (silverware holder)

To make the birthday banner:
- Hole punch enough cards for Happy Birthday and the honoree's age and/or name
-Write a letter on each card (or glue letters on that you cut out on your Criciut)
-space the cards out on red or black ribbon
We also strung up cards with the red side showing, and no words, for further decoration.
To make the areas where we taped up our banner and streamers look nice, and not messy, we taped a "5" card and a "2" card, fanned out over the taped spot. Quick and simple decor!

To make this adorable photo prop:
Take a glassless frame and tape or hotglue a ribbon across a corner
Clip cards representing your honoree's age on the ribbon with a pretty clothespin.

We were lucky that our honoree was wearing matching colors today!

Stay tuned this week for more tutorials and recipes from this party!
