Everyone raved about this fruit tart at the party. It turned out beautiful and delicious. No one believed that it was homemade. I was told it looked and tasted like something you would find in a specialty high end bakery. The ease (and thriftiness) of making this recipe can be your little secret...
Fruit Tart Recipe (Makes 2):
Shells:
½ cup butter melted
¼ cup sugar
¼ tsp salt
1 egg white
1 ½ cup all purpose flour
Blend first 4 ingredients, add flour and mix until smooth. Use the dough into each tart pans. Place on cookie sheet and refrigerate ½ hour. Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Bake shells 12 minutes until golden. They will shrink in size. Cool in pans on rack.
Filling:
1 pkg 3 ½ ounces instant vanilla pudding
1 ¼ cup milk
Mix; fold in 1 cup heavy cream whipped and 1 tsp almond extract. Add fruit: mandarin oranges, grapes, blueberries, strawberries, raspberries, and kiwi. Glaze fruit with melted apple jelly and 1 Tbsp water. Chill tarts.
